AMAN, Pakistan's peace band

7 June 2011; Lahore: Sangat congratulates Benish Patress, a Sangat alumna from Lahore, Pakistan, for the launch of AMAN, a peace band. Benish is one among the all-women group of vocalists with AMAN which was launched at the Ali Institute of Education in Lahore recently. AMAN strives to spread the message of love, peace and harmony through their songs and tributes to music legends who have worked towards the same goal.

AMAN is a collaborative project between FACES Pakistan and NCIDE (National Commission for Inter-religious Dialogue and Ecumenism) to promote peace through music.  

At their launch, AMAN performed the fabulous music of Sohail Rana, sang songs by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and lyrics from Eddie Vedder’s ‘Face of Love’. A large number of music enthusiasts and youngsters attended the band’s launch.  The band has Salman Albert, a renowned name in the music industry, as its technical advisor.
