Since Sangat is a South Asian organisation, many of the books listed below have been translated in South Asian languages such as Urdu, Bangla, Sinhalese, Tamil as well as in many Indian languages such as Hindi, Malyalam, Gujarati, Marathi and so on. Some books have also been translated in Arabic and Turkish. This long, pictorial poem emphasizes the need to allow children, especially girl children, to imagine and explore while also urging parents or adults to encourage girls to live a fuller childhood that is free from gendered restrictions. From a tender age, girls are pulled into house work and not allowed to play or study as much as boys. This book helps parents recognize such discrimination and end it.
